A guide to hiring an acoustic band

We will try and answer questions for the first time booker of a live acoustic band and offer some acts for your consideration. What is an acoustic band?
The simple answer is that an acoustic band is a band that plays without electric instruments but this doesn't paint the whole picture. Many acoustic bands will base their sound around acoustic guitars but for some the sound that an acoustic band produces might be augmented by keyboards or electric guitar. A good example which will be understood by most people is MTVs Unplugged series which showed major acts playing stripped down versions of their biggest hits. A more recent example is the Radio One sessions performed under the umbrella of the Live Lounge which often features unplugged acoustic band versions of major pop anthems. The acoustic bands we will focus on in this page will fall under this category of a great band playing acoustic cover versions.
What kind of acoustic bands are available to hire?
Our acoustic bands cover a wide variety of pop, rock and, in some cases, jazz anthems and we have hand picked the best of the UKs acoustic cover bands below. It is important as a booker of live music to consider what effect you wish to achieve at your party. Do you want people to dance and/or sing a long?
